The service
Centrifox designs, builds and hosts a website for your business, and makes changes to it that you request by email. The features and allowances included depend on the plan you choose, as published on our pricing page at the time you sign up.
Billing
Plans are billed monthly in advance. Billing begins on the day your website launches; there is no charge for the design and build period before that.
Before any commitment, we provide a free working draft of your homepage and up to two further pages, with one round of changes. If you decide not to go ahead, you owe nothing, and the draft design is not licensed for use elsewhere.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude applicable taxes, which are added where required. Your price is fixed for the first 12 months. After that, we will give you at least 60 days' notice by email of any change.
Minimum term and cancellation
The minimum term is three months from launch. After that, your plan continues month to month.
You can cancel by replying to any email from us, or by writing to the address below, with 30 days' notice. Your website remains live until the end of the notice period.
Ownership
Your domain name is registered in your name and belongs to you from the start.
Content you provide, including text, photographs and logos, remains yours. Text we write for you becomes yours once published on your website. You may request an export of your content at any time.
Ownership of your website's design and code transfers to you, free of charge, after 12 paid months. If you cancel before then, we will offer a fixed buyout price or provide your content so the site can be rebuilt elsewhere.
Edits and additional work
An edit is a change to existing pages, such as text, images, prices, opening hours or a new section on an existing page. We complete small edits within your plan's turnaround: two business days on Starter, one business day on Standard, and the same business day on Growth for requests received by 12pm. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays; requests received outside them are counted from the next business day.
Starter includes up to two hours of edits each month; additional time is quoted before work begins. Standard and Growth include unlimited small edit requests, which we handle one at a time in the order received, with Growth requests placed in a priority queue.
New pages and articles count toward your plan's monthly allowance. Larger work, such as a booking system or online shop, is quoted in advance and only begins with your written approval.
SEO and performance
Every plan includes the search engine optimization work described on our pricing page at the time you sign up, such as keyword research, on-page and technical SEO, Google Business Profile setup and the reporting for your plan. Search rankings are decided by search engines and depend on factors outside our control, including competition and changes to their algorithms, so we do not guarantee any particular position.
On every plan, we guarantee a score of 90 or above for your homepage on Google PageSpeed Insights (mobile). If it falls below 90 for reasons within our control, we will fix it at no extra cost. Slowdowns caused by third-party tools or content you ask us to add are excluded, and we will explain the impact before adding them.
Hosting and availability
We host your website, apply security and software updates, take daily backups retained for 30 days, and monitor for downtime. While we work to keep your website available at all times, hosting depends on third-party infrastructure and we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
Your responsibilities
You confirm that you have the right to use any material you send us for your website, and that your website's content complies with applicable law. We may decline to publish content we reasonably believe to be unlawful, misleading or harmful.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree to the change, you may cancel before it takes effect, including during your minimum term.
