Getting started

What is a pay-monthly website?

A pay-monthly website, sometimes called website as a service, replaces the large upfront cost of a website with a fixed monthly fee. With Centrifox, that fee covers the design and build, hosting, security, backups and the changes you ask for, so you never pay separately for maintenance or edits.

How much does a small business website cost per month?

Our plans are $149, $299 or $549 a month depending on size. For comparison, a website builder costs around $15 to $50 a month plus your own time, and an agency build often costs $3,000 or more up front with hosting and changes billed separately. Our cost calculator lets you compare the three over three years using your own numbers.

Why pay monthly instead of once?

A one-off build costs less in year one if the site never changes. Most business websites do change: opening hours, prices, services, team members. The monthly fee covers hosting, maintenance and those edits, which would otherwise be billed separately, and spreads the cost of the build.

I already have a website. Do we start again?

We rebuild it, keeping the pages that bring in visitors at the same addresses and redirecting the rest, so you keep the search visibility you've built up.

Can I edit the site myself?

We make all changes for you, so there are no logins to manage and nothing to break. If you need to update something daily, such as a menu, tell us on the first call and we'll set that up.

Do you write the content?

We edit and improve whatever text you have, and write the rest from what we learn on the first call. Standard and Growth include professional copy editing on every page.

Will my site rank on Google?

Getting you found is part of the service. We research the searches your customers use, build every page around them, fix the technical side, set up your Google Business Profile and keep improving things each month, with a report showing your positions. Google decides final rankings, so no honest provider can promise a specific spot, but we commit to the work and show you the results.

What does unlimited requests mean?

On Standard and Growth you can send as many small edit requests as you like. We work through them one at a time, each within your plan's turnaround. New pages and articles count toward your monthly allowance, and larger projects are quoted first.

How long does it take?

Most sites go from the first call to launch in about two weeks. Larger sites with shops or integrations can take three to four.

Billing

Do I pay anything before my site is live?

No. Billing starts on the day your site launches. If you aren't happy with the draft, you don't pay.

What is included in the free draft?

A working version of your homepage and two other key pages, designed for your business, plus one round of changes. If you go ahead, we build the rest and launch. If not, you owe nothing.

Can I change plans later?

Yes, in either direction. Upgrades apply immediately. Downgrades apply from your next billing date, provided the site fits within the smaller plan's page allowance.

What isn't included in the price?

Your domain registration (around $15 a year, paid to your registrar), third-party tools you choose to add, such as a booking system with its own subscription, and one-off projects beyond your plan. We always quote those before starting.

Do you offer annual billing?

Not at the moment. Monthly billing keeps things flexible for you, and keeps us focused on earning the next month.

Ownership and contracts

How long is the contract?

Three months from launch, then month-to-month. Cancel with 30 days' notice by replying to any email.

Who owns the domain?

You do, from day one. It's registered in your name, on your account.

Who owns the content?

You do. Text, photos and logos stay yours, and you can request a full export at any time.

Who owns the design and code?

They transfer to you, free, after 12 paid months. Leaving earlier? We offer a flat buyout or a full content handover.

What counts as an edit?

Any change to existing pages: text, images, prices, hours or a new section. New pages count toward your plan's allowance.

How fast are changes made?

Within two business days on Starter and one on Standard. On Growth, requests received by 12pm are done the same business day.

Can the price change?

Your price is fixed for the first 12 months. After that, we give at least 60 days' notice of any change.
